Objective:
To develop a system that can provide job opportunities for daily wage workers and create a portal that will allow others to easily acquire workforce on demand. A system that can be applied on a large scale and easy to implement.
In current scenario, the daily wage workers have to gather at labour market (Mazdoor Naka) every day to seek jobs and it is not even assured that they will get the job. Secondly, there exists the negotiation process between the workers and the job providers mainly the contractors.
So there is a need to create a system that acts as a mediator between contractors and daily wage workers to solve the major problems between them.
Need for the System:
The Indian Labour Market, out-off 402 million employed citizen 121 million are casual workers i.e they do not have a fixed salary but work on daily basis (2011-2012).
The India Wage Report shows low pay and wage inequality.
To create more job opportunities for Daily Wage workers.
The System that can work parallel with Mazdoor Naka
The Indian labour market, however, remains characterized by high levels of segmentation and informality. Of the total employed in 2011–12, more than half (51.4 per cent, or 206 million people) were self-employed, and of the 195 million wage earners, 62 per cent (i.e. 121 million) were employed as casual workers. Employment in the organized sector has grown, but even in this sector many jobs have been casual or informal.
The System that can work parallel to Mazdoor Naka: So that the worker does not go home without job incase of less demand from a contractor at certain time of day.
System:
The system will initially collect data of all the workers including their name, skill sets, contact number and ID proof.
The system will accept request from contractors of their daily need for workers.
Once a request is made the workers will be noticed a day prior about the job opportunities based upon their skill sets.
This system can also solve the problem of low pay and wage inequality by setting a standardized price model.
Key Features:
More Job opportunities
Job will be known well in advance to workers
Transparent rates
Location based service to reduce idle time
Anyone can demand for any amount of workforce at any time
Not much skill or training is required for the workers
Can be implemented over a large scale even at national level
The System owner can earn profit over each workforce demand
